The January Reality Check
It’s Tuesday already. I was on duty yesterday, so I’m just now finding the time to sit down and write my weekly reflection. January has officially come and gone, and I’ll be honest: I haven’t launched a live website yet. As I start this post, I’m feeling that familiar “writer’s block,” especially since I haven’t been taking daily notes. It’s a challenge to reconstruct a whole week from memory, but documenting the journey is part of the process.

Personal Development: Recharging for February
I’ve made a strategic decision to pause my Cambly classes for the next month. My goal is to focus on expanding my vocabulary independently first. I plan to jump back into live sessions in March.
With the Spring Festival coming up in February, I want to give myself permission to take a break, recharge, and enjoy the holiday. Beyond vocabulary, I’m also hyper-focused on improving my American accent. I’ve been watching pronunciation videos to polish my spoken English—it’s all about those small, daily gains to level up my communication skills.
SaaS Progress: From Research to Code
Regarding my SaaS project, the research phase is officially over. I’ve secured a domain and I am fully committed to building an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) website.
I’ll admit, I hit a bit of a bottleneck because I don’t have a local AI development environment set up yet. Instead of letting that stop me, I’ve decided to move forward using web-based AI tools to help me scaffold the project. It’s time to stop looking at materials and start writing code. The goal for this month is to make tangible headway on the MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
Life Reflection: Hard Work vs. Destiny
Last Sunday was an interesting experience. My girlfriend, our parents, and I went to see a fortune teller. To be blunt, I’m convinced the guy was a fraud.
I don’t really buy into the idea of “destiny” or “luck.” I believe that we shape our own lives through discipline and hard work. We get the best results when we put in the effort, not because it was written in the stars. Whether I’m mastering a new English phrase or debugging a SQL query, I know the outcome depends on my own hands.
